Sourcing & Freshness

1. Who we are

Heritage Grocer is the trading name of HERITAGE GLOBAL FOODS LTD (Company No. 16229066), registered office Unit C5, Kembrey Street, Elgin Industrial Estate, Swindon, England, SN2 8UY, directed by Sreeshankar Sreeshankar. This page explains, plainly, how we source and handle what we sell.

2. How we source

We buy fresh fruit and vegetables from wholesale markets and suppliers, selecting to order rather than holding long-term stock of fresh lines. Product pages state the country of origin where the law requires it and wherever else we can state it reliably. Origin of fresh goods can change from week to week with the season and the market; the label on the item you receive is always the authoritative source.

3. How we handle fresh food

Chilled goods are stored and transported in temperature-controlled conditions from our Swindon unit to your door, using our own vehicles. Our food business is registered with the local authority, and we operate a food safety management system based on HACCP principles, as UK food law requires.

4. What we do not claim

We keep our descriptions factual. Unless a specific product page says otherwise with evidence (for example a certified organic product carrying its certification code on the label), we do not claim that our goods are organic, sustainable, eco-friendly, carbon-neutral or ethically certified, and we do not use those terms in our marketing. Terms like “organic” are legally protected and appear only where the product’s own certification supports them.
