Allergen & Product Information

1. Who we are

Heritage Grocer is the trading name of HERITAGE GLOBAL FOODS LTD (Company No. 16229066), registered office Unit C5, Kembrey Street, Elgin Industrial Estate, Swindon, England, SN2 8UY, directed by Sreeshankar Sreeshankar. This page explains how we present allergen, weight and product information, in line with the Food Information Regulations 2014 and related UK food law.

2. The 14 regulated allergens

UK food law requires clear information about these 14 allergens: celery; cereals containing gluten (such as wheat, rye, barley, oats); crustaceans; eggs; fish; lupin; milk; molluscs; mustard; peanuts; sesame; soybeans; sulphur dioxide and sulphites (above 10mg/kg or 10mg/L); and tree nuts (such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, cashews, pecans, pistachios, macadamia).

3. Where to find allergen information

Every product page on this website lists the allergens relevant to that product, or states that none of the 14 regulated allergens is an ingredient. Prepacked goods carry the manufacturer’s ingredient list on the label, with allergens emphasised. Where we pack goods ourselves for direct sale, labels carry the full ingredient list with allergens emphasised, as required for prepacked-for-direct-sale (PPDS) food. Please note that fresh goods are handled in an environment where allergens including nuts, gluten, fish, crustaceans, milk, egg, sesame, mustard, celery, soya and sulphites are present, so we cannot guarantee that any product is free from traces of any allergen.

If you have a food allergy or intolerance: read the product page before ordering, check the physical label on arrival, and contact us at orders@heritagegrocer.co.uk or +44 7836 674533 before purchasing if anything is unclear. If information on this website ever differs from the physical label, follow the physical label and let us know so we can correct the website.

4. Catch-weight and variable-weight goods

Fresh produce is a natural product that cannot be picked to an exact size or weight. Where a product is sold in a weight band (for example “approx. 400g”), the band selected at checkout is the minimum weight supplied for that price; the piece you receive may weigh slightly more at no extra charge. The price shown at checkout is the price you pay — we do not adjust the charge after dispatch.

5. Storage, dates and food safety

Product pages state whether an item is chilled or ambient. Refrigerate chilled goods promptly on delivery and follow the storage instructions and use-by or best-before dates on the label. A use-by date is a safety limit — do not eat food after its use-by date. A best-before date is about quality rather than safety. We dispatch goods with a reasonable remaining shelf life for their category; if you are ever unhappy with the date on an item you receive, our freshness promise in the Returns & Refunds Policy applies.

6. Questions

For any question about ingredients, allergens, origin or dietary suitability, contact orders@heritagegrocer.co.uk before ordering. This page was last updated in July 2026.
